Some of the teams worked on minimum spaces designing some modules starting from the relation between man/space/function.
Alcuni gruppi hanno lavorato sugli spazi minimi progettando dei moduli a partire dal rapporto uomo/spazio/funzione.
Do your own is based on two entities, the shop and the workshop which have been placed in a box each. A totem is equipped to accommodate a 3D printer, some of the products which have been realized in the box, the material to produce them and it services also as a worktable. This system is not heavy and it’s easy to be transported. It’s integrated by a bubble shelter which can be inflated when the module is going to be placed outdoor.
Do Your Own ad esempio, è un laboratorio e un negozio, entrambe le funzioni sono racchiuse in 2 scatole. Un totem attrezzato per accogliere una stampante 3D, contenere i prodotti realizzati con essa e il materiale per produrli, e al tempo stesso piano di lavoro. Un sistema molto leggero e facilmente trasportabile che si integra a una copertura/bolla che può essere montata quando il modulo si trova in spazi aperti.
The module for Prestatore di opera scritta it’s a mini box where a ghost writer creates on-demand greeting cards. The spaces are minimal and they have been designed to be reduced even more when the box it’s closed.
Il modulo del Prestatore d’Opera Scritta invece è un mini box al cui interno un ghost writer realizza bigliettini su misura per ogni ricorrenza. Gli spazi ridotti ai minimi termini sono pensati per esser ulteriormente compattati quando il modulo è chiuso.
Other two teams aimed for transportability of the modules creating structures on wheels which are able to expand and compress.
Altri due gruppi hanno puntato sulla trasportabilità dei moduli creando delle strutture su ruote capaci di espandersi e compattarsi.
Away to cook is a module designed for a personal chef. He travels in different cities selling mini-quiche in order to promote his cooking talent. The space in the middle of the box expands to accommodate the guests for the tasting. During the night the same space serves as temporary house for the chef.
Away to Cook è un modulo per un cuoco a domicilio che si sposta per le città. Attraverso la vendita di mini-quiche promuove il suo talento in cucina. Lo spazio che si espande all’interno del modulo viene usato di giorno per la degustazione dei prodotti venduti e di notte diventa la casa del cuoco.
W.E. Green it’s a small prefab house rearranged to satisfy the needs of a landscape designer. A pull-out green house and four wheels allow the box to be transported every month in a different city.
W.E. Green invece è una piccola casetta prefabbricata riadattata per soddisfare le esigenze di un progettista di spazi verdi. Una serra estraibile e quattro ruote gli consentono di spostare la sua attività da una città all’altra ogni mese.
The theme of modules that open has been developed by the teams who designed Box Makes Boxes, Hour Theatre and 2/3D.
Il tema del modulo apribile è stato approfondito dai gruppi che hanno progettato Box Makes Boxes, Hour Theatre e 2/3D
BoxMakesBoxes it’s a module made by a core/workshop and a set of wings sold as a customized exhibition space. Each sheet is pre-set with some cuts which allow to generate exhibitions structures always different for each client. The core is the support of the sheet/walls for transportation and it’s hosting the tools needed for the customization of the sheets.
BoxMakesBoxes è un modulo costituito da un nucleo centrale/laboratorio e da una serie di quinte che generano lo spazio del modulo e che vengono vendute come spazio espositivo customizzato. Ogni quinta è predisposta con dei tagli che consentono di generare strutture espositive sempre diverse. Il nucleo centrale è supporto delle pareti per il trasporto e contenitore delle attrezzature del lab necessarie alla personalizzazione delle quinte.
Hour Theatre it’s a cube which promotes the Theatrical culture. In daytime it serves as a billboard for the plays, by night the box opens up and shows its real essence: from one side it’s a cafè/foyer, the opposite side it’s a street theatre which contains stage and parterre.
Hour Theatre è un cubo che promuove e pubblicizza la cultura teatrale. Di giorno è superficie pubblicitaria per spettacoli e il teatro, la sera si apre e rivela la sua vera natura: da un lato è un bar/foyer, dall’altro è teatro di strada costituito da palcoscenico e posti a sedere.
2/3D has been designed starting from the idea that a minimum space can generate a bigger and versatile module just by simple moves. A closet that can be opened in one side, through a system made by shelves and hinges, can become an exhibition and retail space. In the opposite side, thanks to a foldable tent the designer can be hosted for the night.
2/3D infine parte dall’idea che uno spazio minimo possa espandersi e articolarsi per generare un modulo più grande e versatile. Un armadio apribile che da una parte, attraverso un sistema di mensole e cerniere, diventa spazio espositivo e di vendita e dall’altra, grazie ad una tenda, definisce uno spazio notte dove il talento può dormire.
Some other teams designed their modules thinking about flexibility and adaptability.
Sign’s box is a space based on a square modular grid to let little exhibition spaces.
Build your idea (1) is a shell made by tv screens that unveil what’s happening inside the module to provide, where new crowdsourcing projects are defined.
Share your skill (2) it’s a module based on a regular grid which allows to place elements and arrange spaces according to multiple needs to display tridimensional portfolios.
Altri gruppi hanno ragionato sulla flessibilità e adattabilità dei loro moduli.
Sing’s box sviluppa lo spazio a partire da un sistema modulare a maglia quadrata per affittare spazi espositivi; Build Your Idea (1) ha ideato un guscio di schermi che a seconda se sono accesi o spenti rivelano ciò che accade all’interno, dove si mettono a punto progetti di crowdsourcing; Share Your Skil (2) che, con un modulo costituito da una griglia regolare, consente di spostare gli elementi al suo interno a seconda delle esigenze di chi presenta il suo portfolio tridimensionale.

Then Choose and Pick, Box Choice, Make Your Catering, Reorder the Old, Demo (3), Behind the Art(4), Green Design e Bike to Bike (5) developed small but highly characterized reversible pavilions thought to fulfil the functions which have been defined in the concept phase.
